Lovely Complex is the first japanese drama that I watched. At that time when I was studying Japanese a few years ago. I was shocked when I saw the grammar used is very different. After explored, I finally know ... Apparently they use the Kansai dialect. (Japanese language used in the cities surrounding Osaka). Lovely Complex is a love comedy and drama. Started when a short man named Atsushi Otani expressed his feelings to a woman whose body was taller than her, and of course Otani met with resistance. On the other hand, a woman named Risa Koizumi expressed his feelings to men who are shorter than her, Koizumi also met with resistance.

I think, it gives them a view that the high female dating a shorter man will create a problem. This is where the complexity arises. Otani and Koizumi are classmates and often fight. No matter how small the problem will make them fight. But on the other hand, they have the same taste in music like. Once they realize the have in common with each other, they began to close.
